Spring Meeting of SFB/TRR 339

Shaping the Path for Phase 2
From March 11 to 13, 2025, the spring meeting of SFB/TRR 339 took place in Würzburg. The focus was on the strategic planning of the upcoming project phase and the further development of interdisciplinary collaboration within the CRC.
Until noon of March 12, the PIs met for a planning workshop, which this time also included the participation of all involved researchers. The central topic was the vision for the second funding phase and future prospects beyond the project. In addition to the content of each subproject, the discussions emphasized the interaction and integration of all projects—a crucial aspect for the success of the planned large-scale demonstrator at the Aldenhoven Testing Center.
Existing working groups and collaborative methods were evaluated, reconsidered, and reorganized to strengthen future cooperation. The goal is to achieve even closer and more effective integration across all projects.

On the afternoon of March 12 and the morning of March 13, the Integrated Research Training Group (MGK) hosted a separate workshop for the researchers and associated members. Current progress on joint demonstrator projects was presented, critically discussed, and plans were developed for the next steps—especially with regard to the upcoming evaluation in one year.
The spring meeting clearly demonstrated the importance of continuous exchange and close cooperation for the long-term success of SFB/TRR 339.
