Overseas Research Stay

Research stay at University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia

The research stay at UNSW Sydney at the GRID lab of Professor Sisi Zlatanova was a very enriching experience and gave me the chance to gain insights into the pressing challenges of digital twins and solutions that high ranking researchers in Australia explore.

During the stay we took part in organizing a collaborative Workshop on the challenges and potentials of Digital Twins. A video of our presentation at this workshop is available on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCTyQYt1-_Q&t=1610s). Additionally, we published a common paper analyzing the feasibility of game engines for a traffic monitoring digital twin use case, for which we conducted a case study for Liverpool, Sydney (https://doi.org/10.5194/isprs-archives-XLVIII-4-2024-131-2024).

We are convinced that the TRR 339 will greatly benefit from the newly established connection to Professor Zlatanova and the GRID lab at UNSW, since she is a leading expert in geospatial science and urban digital twins.
