International Summer School of SFB/TRR 339

The Collaborative Research Center Transregio SFB/TRR 339 - Digital Twin Road, a DFG-funded large-scale collaborative project of TU Dresden and RWTH Aachen University, invited international scientists to participate in the International Summer School on the topic "Digital Twin Road - Physical-Informational Representation of the System "Road of the Future" from August 21-25, 2023. The event took place at the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) in Bergisch-Gladbach.
For one week, project-internal scientists of the SFB/TRR 339, employees of the BASt as well as 20 international Master students, PhD students, PostDocs and professors gathered. The topic of the Digital Twin Road was addressed from different angles with exciting expert presentations from the academic world, both internal and external to the project, and from the business world.
In order to also give the participants a hands-on experience of the content, tours of the BASt test facilities and the duraBASt demonstration, investigation and reference area were conducted. In hands-on workshops, they were able to incorporate their own ideas and competencies.
